Adventures in Fairy Tale Town

First off let me say that Krissy and I are the luckiest two teachers ever..We have the best class at VMS (DUH!!!) and the best parents. We are so glad that the majority of the kids we have now are staying with us for another year and we are sad that we will be losing some of you as well - why do you have to turn 5?! Can't you just stay in preschool FOREVER!? Ok all that aside let's get down to business....

Back Story - April 28th 7:00PM I get a call from a freaked out Krissy explaining that she thinks she scheduled our upcoming field trip on May 5th not May 4th! WHAT?! - we told all the parents Tuesday, May 4th are you kidding? She tells me that the confirmation email she has says our field trip is scheduled for May 5th but she couldn't remember if that was for Merritt's class or our's - OMG Krissy! Of course it's too late to call FTT and neither one of us have our keys to the office at VMS to look at the print out so both of us have to wait until the morning (insert horrific scream)! I get to school the next day and head into the office to get the paperwork and sure enough the field trip is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5th! Krissy and I talk on the phone about the mix up and I assure her I will get it taken care of! I call right away but they aren't open yet so I wait until about 9:30 and try again..JACKPOT! Someone answers and I explain my dilemma - Room Two Rocks cannot go to FTT on Cinco de Mayo unless they want chips and guacamole all over their attractions and in the bellys of the Three Little Pigs and Mary's Sheep! She of course says they don't want that and fixes the problem - thanks goodness because Krissy would have been all alone in explaining to Room Two Rocks and Room One Rules that the field trip had been rescheduled again!

Let the fun begin....Tuesday, May 4th

Car assignments have been issued with some groups meeting us there and others leaving from school - even Krissy and I get to take some Room Two Rockers with us! Krissy is assigned Jovan and our single lady, Natters while I am taking Squishy Doza and my love, RT, but we get a call saying RT just threw up in the car and won't be going...Aahhh I love RT! We all load up and hit the road. On the road Squishy and I are rockin out to different songs on the radio - I think there was some Lady Gaga, Usher but she really wants to hear Taylor Swift...Sorry Squish I don't have a radio in my car from this century - I only have a tape player (I know!) and offer her my daughter Rikkie's ipod but she declines. We pull up next to Krissy and her crew at a light and they are rockin out to some Boom Boom Pow and of course Single Ladies so we listen along with them! Light turns green and we pull into the parking lot of William Land Park and find a spot. We all pile out and you would have never known that the kids in either car had just seen Krissy or I less than 1/2 hour before because we get the biggest greeting EVER! We meet up with the rest of the group in front of FTT and meet our guide, Mr Lee!

Mr. Lee explains that we have to use our manners, have fun and most importantly he tells the kids to keep an eye on the adults because adults get really excited in FTT and sometimes run off, get lost and cry! Nobody wants that so all the kids agree not to lose their adult...He also explains that we shouldn't try to go swimming in the water at FTT because of the alligator that lives in the waterway and I told Squishy that I didn't bring a fishing pole so if she went in she was staying because I melt in water!

We head inside to our first stop The Big Shoe Slide....

Shoe Slide check..on to the next stop...The Castle...

Next Stop - Mary's Lamb or they could be Bo Peep's Sheep...And who do we meet there? Someone who is acting very shy for some strange reason - Scheidiggy Doo!

Oh no Curvy Road ahead!......

Ok everyone is out but where's Squish? Did the alligator get her? Oh here she comes....

While Squish went down the Crooked Mile about 100 more times I snapped a few shots of people we know...

I finally got Squish off the Crooked Mile and we went to the Treehouse Slide which is pretty steep but she made it up and down on her own...

Good job Squish - I see Aly Doza is training you well!

Off to Old McDonald's Farm to meet his animals and some other friends as well...

And the Barn Slide was a NO THANK YOU!!! Back down the stairs she comes....

Sherwood Forest....Here we come

I guess we didn't stay long because that is the only picture I got in Sherwood Forest! I think it was because Gracie heard that her Prince, Drewbis, was waiting for her over by Cinderella's Pumpkin Coach! This isn't the first time a Prince has been waiting for a Cardoza girl..her sister Aly's Prince Charming, Travis, has met her in the Pumpkin Coach before...

Well Gina Doza at least they have good taste!

Now for some fun on the bean stalk and a really big foot!

EVERYONE SAY CHEESE!!!!!

All this fun was really stressing Lane out so we all headed to the Pirate Ship while he found some peace and tranquility in The Garden...

Ahoy Mateys....

All ashore that's going ashore we're headed back to the Big Shoe to wrap the day up...

Shout to my future Room Two Rocker Tilly - You are the cutest thing ever and Krissy and I cannot wait so tell your mom she is just going to have to continue to drive across town so you can be a Room Two Rocker just like your big bro!

Off to eat lunch and hang out before the car ride home. The kids got their last bit of lingering energy out and then we all loaded up to head back to VMS for a much needed nap. Some of us started our naps a little earlier than others....
