Something to Blog About: Powerhouse Pub Birthday Club

A few friends of mine and I have decided to create a birthday club for 2010. It's pretty much a GREAT excuse for a girl's night out every month. We have decided to celebrate our BFF for the month's birthday at a local bar called the Powerhouse Pub. They have live bands playing Friday and Saturday nights and the best part of this whole adventure is that the birthday girl gets in free with 10 of her bestys!

January 2010 - We celebrated for our girl, Crystal Roy! She turned the big 30 this week and playing at the Powerhouse was a favorite of ours, The Wonderbread 5!

Yes folks - WE LOVE WONDERBREAD!!!!

So the night started like this - Me and my two Orangevale Soccer Moms, Kristi and Shannah

-Oh aren't they cute! Anyway I coached, they watched our 3 lovely daughters' indoor soccer game. I sent my kids away with their Gramma and Papa and Kristi and Shannah - well who knows what they did with their kids! Just kidding they left them in the VERY capable hands of their husbands (wink,wink). After a little primping and a fresh change of attire we hit the streets of Old Folsom!

First stop - The Hacienda...Well I have no clue what was going on before I arrived but everyone knows "the party don't start til I walk in" or in this case until Krissy walks in!

Now Krissy is one of my favorite peeps in the whole world that's why we are trying out for The Amazing Race together (BTW - you can follow our journey on Facebook - become our fan at Get Gina & Krissy on The Amazing Race). So Krissy was already like 2 possibly 3 drinks deep - She was hammered drunk! And it was 8:00 PM!!!! Now I have phone numbers of some pretty cool chicks in my phone (Nora, Jamie and Erin) all of which are supposed to be with us for the evening and Krissy decides she wants to call them to find out their arrival time..let the drunk calling begin.

We'll start with Erin because she ended up having to work - sucks to be Erin on this Friday...Love ya though! (she is the one with the black "hair") Back to the story drunk dialing Erin - no answer Krissy is disappointed but decides to leave her a message. I would LOVE to tell you what the message said which apparently was told to me but I don't remember - sorry! I can tell you it was hilarious per a text Erin sent me later! ERIN OUT - damn it she is one of my favs!

Next victim - Nora! This was a beautiful pic of her and her fam but for my purposes today I just need to stalk her...Anyhow let the drunk dialing of Nora begin..Krissy is a courteous drink dialer and she decides to call Nora's cell phone not the house because what if our former Room Two Rocker - Casey answers. I can imagine it..close your eyes and picture it with me...Krissy would blurt out some sort of nonsense and Casey would probably hand the phone to his dad, Pedar, and say there is a crazy person on the other end or cry - either way it's all bad. You can open your eyes now we're back...No answer from Nora either and another message takes place - I think! I was sitting next to Krissy but once again NO CLUE!!! There is a back story to us wanting Nora to come out with us which is we invite her just about EVERY TIME we go out and EVERY TIME she gets "sick" or one of her kids is "sick". One would think she doesn't like us but I know she's just a great Mama! So no response from Nora until about the time she is supposed to arrive...guess what? "Sick" baby once again! I know what her messages were because I have them in text...she apparently had an outfit picked out, dance moves rehearsed and offered up her husband to make it up to Krissy..I think with baked goods but we went another route - damn drunk girls...NORA OUT!!!!

Last Victim - Jamie. Now Jamie is the bomb, doo doo and any other slang word for the best! Why you ask? Because I said so and it's my blog! Krissy never actually got to drunk dial her because she showed up right as we were planning our attack. So instead of a drunken call she received a drunken greeting from Krissy. She bought a round we sucked it down and bounced because Nicole (you'll meet her later) was jockin us to go get in line with them. Done with the Hacienda onto bigger and better things - Powerhouse Pub!

We drink some more and then go up to the front of the stage to score a killer spot in the front. At the beginning of the evening I had been teasing my OV Soccer Moms that we needed to be careful or we were going to have wieners in our face all night and I'm not talking about the kind with buns...where do I stand wiener central. Nice (insert smart ass tone). We'll come back to that...We're hanging out and we meet this girl - don't know her name but I named her Clam Boobs and she rolled with it!

She was telling us about a dance competition she was going to be in and that we needed to vote for her at this point you got it Clam Boobs. Well they demonstrate the dance that needs to be done and I look at Krissy and say "You got this". She is super hammered at this point and agrees..Here are a few image details to prove it...

So Krissy rocks the dance contest and blows Clam Boobs out of the water! Sorry but Krissy is my girl! Winning photo is displayed above..Back to the fun - Wonderbread 5 come out on stage and we are dancin front row center or if you're me Weiner Central. So I start acting like a smart ass, I know weird to think, and egging them on. The bass player catches on to my game and here's what happens...

Why do I have to be the smart ass? Oh well - it's all in the name of fun! So apparently while all this is going down a few rows back my homies are getting bounced around by a larger broad and her skinny friends - I want to call her something else but that's not nice so let's not go there! Now apparently Nicole tries to stand up to the Large One and loses the battle which is fine because I wouldn't want a good friend to get squashed on her sister's birthday or any other day for that matter! All my homies had to leave the dance floor area - the only ones left are me, Krissy, Kristi and Shannah. So now the Large One is stationed behind Kristi and Krissy and proceeds to try and make friends with Kristi. Probably not a good idea...Kristi is the DD for Shannah and myself which means she has not had alcohol at this point and tries numerous times to discourage the Large One , of course in a nice way (wink,wink)! The broad will not give up so we move on and try to ignore her. The 4 of us rock out to the first set while the others I would suspect kicked it at the table. Nicole made her way back at the end of the set and then we hit the restroom. Where Kristi decided to find out who brought the Big Girl and why? Which we figured was so the skinny broads could get to the front because the obnoxious big one cleared the way.

Making our way back to center stage, as known by most, for me once again..Weiner Central. Krissy is way, way, way too drunk to stay so Jamie takes her home..KRISSY & JAMIE OUT! Nicole brings me some much needed water and tells us that the Birthday Girl needs to go home because she was trying to fight an old lady (as described by Crystal) at the table...NICOLE & CRYSTAL OUT! That leaves the Three Soccer Moms to rock out the second set and we do! As this is occurring we see the Large One taking pics of her own boobs across the way, get a gang load of drunk chicks kicked off the stage cause we were sick of looking at them and frankly didn't pay to see them! All in all it was a great night, full of fun and The Wonderbread 5!
